Hand and Lock Embroidery

The Most Noble Order of the Garter is the highest English Order of Chivalry and is one of the most important of all such Orders throughout the world. The badge is presented on a square patch of dark blue velvet which could be used to frame this item. Embroidered by hand in 2wm gold wire and 90% silver, this Order is worn on the left side of the mantle, and depicts a shield of the arms of St George (Argent a Cross Gules) within the Garter which is shown buckled and edged with gold embroidery and having the motto in gold letters.
