This delicate robe badge is professionally hand embroidered in 90% silver and 2wm gold and enhanced with coloured silks. It features a velvet garter with the inscription "Tria Juncta in Uno" which translates as "three join to become one". This motto was historically thought to refer either to the Union of England, Scotland and France, or to the Union of England, Scotland and Ireland, or to the Holy Trinity.

The Nelson Order of St Ferdinand is designed in 2wm gold and 90% silver with silk embroidered centre depicting St. Ferdinand in a blue and white silks cloak, clutching a silver wire sword with gold kilt. The Nelson Order of St Joachim is designed in 2wm gold and 90% silver with silk embroidered centre on white raycott, surrounded by a raised green velvet garter with gold smooth purl lettering edged with gold pearl purl. The four points of the cross is worked in 90% silver spangles sewn down silver rough purl. This order is made on a holland and tissue paper ground.
